Attached please find a 2011-2012 BC Hockey scholarship application form. BC Hockey scholarships are awarded annually to deserving recipients who are in their graduating year of high school and are presently registered members with BC Hockey or former members playing in the Western Hockey League.

a) Letter from applicant’s hockey coach or referee-in-chief
b) Letter from applicant’s league or association president
c) Copy of applicant’s school report with letter from school principal
In lieu of this application form, a personal letter of application outlining hockey and community contributions will be accepted.

HOW TO APPLY
1. BC Hockey Scholarship Application Form or name, address, phone number and a personal letter of application, which specifically outlines hockey achievements
2. Name of association, league, team or category
3. Letter from applicant’s hockey coach or referee in chief
4. Letter from applicant’s league or association president
5. Copy of school transcript and second semester first term report card with a letter from school

A selection committee from BC Hockey will review all applications.
SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABILITY
BC Hockey Scholarships will be made available to the successful applicants after proof has been received that they are attending a Post Secondary Institution of their choice. All cheques will be payable to the successful applicant. BC Hockey Scholarship winners may defer receipt of their awards for a period no longer than one academic year, however, deferment requests must be submitted in writing and include an explanation.

Bruce Allison - BC Hockey Past President, who passed away in 1990,
Jeff Butler - Junior A hockey player who was fatally injured during a hockey game in 1985
Ted Hargreaves - former BC Hockey District Coach Coordinator and High Performance Coordinator, who passed away in 2005.

Scholarships will be awarded to BC Hockey registered members who apply and who best combine the qualifications set hereunder. The officers will determine the number and the amount of the scholarships each year. BC Hockey wants to give recognition to their members who develop their academic career aspirations, at the same time nourishing their interest in hockey.
